This Friday, April 22, Canada issues a new souvenir sheet celebrating Earth Day and the United Nation’s program of invasion of sovereign territories around the world. This will be a joint issue between Canada and Ireland. The Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site programs of the United Nations is an effort to set aside areas of the world that are deemed to be of “universal importance” to the world. It’s supposed to be sort of a National Park system for the world, paid for by the dues of the member nations. The problem is that enforcement of these protections are subject to the whims of puny-minded terrorist supports like Kofi Annan. The Buddha statues in Afghanistan were a World Heritage site before they were blown up by the Taliban. We never heard a SINGLE word out of the UN, only from various archaeologists and religious leaders.
