In an effort to dilute the American spirit just a little more, Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ — surprise, surprise) introduced legislation in the House of Representatives for the United States to issue a stamp in celebration of Diwali, an East Indian holiday also known as the “Festival of Lights.” This is just the latest in a series of PC (BS) holiday stamps (Kwanzaa, EID, Hanukkah) issued by USPS in an effort to acknowledge every little special interest out there. I find this absolutely ridiculous — how come can we have stamps for holiday celebrations for minority interests but we can’t have stamps for Christmas (they’re now called “traditional holiday” stamps), which almost everyone in this country celebrates? I am the first person to tell you that diversity and tolerance are wonderful things, but the PC movement in this country is getting totally out of hand! PC should not mean that everyone that is NOT a minority must sit back and shut up. For a more calm report on these goings-on see Don Schilling’s blog or read the original article.
