Swiss Post to issue cell phone stamps

In September Swiss Post will issue four stamps containing images snapped by camera equipped cell-phones. The images are the result of a country-wide contest with more than 3,000 entries to honor the technology and it’s capabilities. On June 1, China will issue a set of five stamps depicting scenes from the stories of Hans Christian Anderson. See here for more information. I wonder if these stories are as familiar to children in China as they are to those of us who grew up in the western world?

Portugal awarded 2004 Olympia Prize

Portugal has been awarded the gold medal in the 2004 Olympia Prize competition. The Olympia Prize is awarded to those countries who issue the best stamps for a particular Olympiad, as judged by a panel of philatelists and members of the IOC. Click here for more information on this.

Update on India fiasco

In article on India Daily, it has been revealed that more than 1,000 people were involved in the printing of fake stamps recently. The Indian government is still tracking most of them down.
