In a high-stakes political poker game, the Japanese Prime minister is facing off with parliament in a move to privatise the Japanese postal system. In Japan, the postal service also doubles as the world’s largest financial organization (read bank). Aside from the obvious effects of moving huge sums of money into the private sector, I wonder what it will do for Japanese stamp collectors. New Zealand has privatised it’s postal system as well, but I haven’t heard much about the stamps of New Zealand either. Anyone care to shed some light?
