Today Thailand releases the “International Day of Peace” stamp. The design features a white dove with olive branch and a rainbow in the background. I believe this is an excellent stamp for Thailand this year, as the country has been very active in it’s peace roles.

Southern Tailand has a Service For Peace program that has hundreds of volunteers. The Service For Peace program has changed much since the tsunami hit them. Initially they began with efforts of simple disaster repsonse. This has now moved to an effort of helping the people to rebuild and special focus on the areas children and orphans.

The first of August was the Global Peacemaker Camp in Thailand. There were volunteers from six nations including Taiwan, the U.S., France, Japan, Korea, and Thailand. The theme of the the teams were to “Go Beyond Tolerance to Multiculturalism”.
