The World Trade Center Memorial Foundation has started an online petition to lobby Congress and USPS to issue a World Trade Center Memorial stamp. The petition can be found here, if you are so inclined to “sign” it. Personally, I’m not sure that this would be an appropriate subject for a stamp, as I’m not sure that great tragedies are something that should be commemorated. Remembered yes, commemorated no. Wouldn’t the memorial itself be enough? Of course, memorials of all kinds have appeared on stamps before, and I have no doubt that there will be some interest in this one.
