On February 15-17, Sotheby’s will auction the Sir Gawain Baillie collection of rare New Zealand stamps. The collection is purported to be the most comprehensive collection of New Zealand stamps to ever be formed, and is worth approximately $45 million New Zealand dollars. In US dollars that is approximately $30 million! This would be one of the most valuable collections ever to hit the auctions.
