Bob Parkin, the proprietor of the Parkinlot blog over on blogspot, informed me yesterday of a new set of stamps from Zazzle.com. These stamps feature celebrity signatures with a lipstick impression of a pair of lips. The stamp series is called Sealed with a Kiss, and is the result of a partnership between the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and Zazzle.com. The HSUS is the nation’s largest animal protection organization. All proceeds from sales of the stamps benefit HSUS. I assume that the signatures are being used with permission of each respective celebrity, but there is nothing on the site that indicates that this is the case. Current USPS regulations prohibit showing celebrity pictures on a personalized stamp, so this is a rather creative way to get around that rule. This particular stamp is of interest to me, as KISS is one of my favorite bands, and of course stamp collecting is my favorite pastime, so the combination of the two takes it to a new level!
