With big splashy headlines and much to-do over nothing, Hershey announced via press release today that it has reached an agreement with the USPS to release a stamp next year called the ‘With Love and Kisses’ stamp. I guess we should have expected this, with the Disney coffers drying up soon, that USPS would be looking for another corporate sponsor. I guess you can tell by the tone of this post, that I disagree with this move wholeheartedly. It’s one thing to honor Milton Hershey as the philanthropist he was, it’s entirely another to honor a corporation. Some will insist that Hershey, the company, is an American icon, and therefore is deserving of a stamp.
