Speaking of corporate stamps, David Williams pointed out an article in today’s Louisville Business First (I don’t have a link) that there is a move afoot by KFC corporation to get Col. Sanders pictured on a US Postage Stamp. Their website even has a petition to get it done. Business wise, this is a good move on KFC’s part as at the very least they will get some publicity out of the move. Philatelic wise, all I can say is, what is the world coming to? Snoopy, Bugs Bunny, Hershey Kisses, Disney characters and now, advertising icons. It may sell stamps, but it doesn’t say much for our culture, does it?
