Today, August 16 2006, Canada brings back the beaver in this .51-cent stamp commemorating the 50th Anniversary For The Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC). The GDC is an organization whose members are professionals in the field of graphic design. 2,500,000 stamps are to be produced.

This stamp is the collaborative effort of Rod Roodenburg, David Coates, and Len Yambot of Vancouver’s Ion Design Inc. I find this to be a clean, eye-pleasing piece of work that well represents graphic designers. Canada’s first postage stamp carried the image of a beaver, which is the country’s treasured symbol.
