Christmas Stamps Issued in St. Lucia

Thursday, November 16 2006, two new Christmas stamps were issued by the Saint Lucia Post Office. The focus of the stamps designs is centered on Saint Lucia’s history of native folk music. This theme of sharing through words in music is portrayed well in the .95-cent and $2.00 stamps.
Sesenne Descartes is shown on the $2 stamp, whose most memorable moment was in October of 1984. It was then, in a full Mon Repos Catholic Church, she was proclaimed ‘Queen of Culture Saint Lucia’.
