New Zealand Community Groups Are Recognized In Stamps

Today, April 24, 2007, New Zealand Post issues the 2007 Centenaries stamps. These stamps have been designed to recognize groups within the New Zealand community that have made an impact on the people. Featured are The Plunket Society, Home of Compassion, Scouts New Zealand and New Zealand Rugby League.
It is important to note that New Zealand Post has felt strongly about community and volunteer organizations. Each year New Zealand Post gives one million envelopes with free postage to 4000 community groups. In total, over 25,000 community projects have benefited from this free postage program.
