Posta Slovenska’ Museum Artifacts Stamps Issued

On Friday, June 23rd, Posta Slovenska issued a pair of stamps focusing on Technical Artifacts/Treasury of Museums. Both stamps are also available in in FDC and a mini sheet that sports each as a block of four.

The first stamp is in recognition of Glass Production, which was a major industry during the Renaissance for Slovakia. The first glassmakers arrived there in the 15th century and created many distinctive items. The stamp features a drinking glass made from blue cobalt glass that was found during an archaeological dig in Bratislava.

The second stamp issued for this series recognizes the Copper Industry. The image represents the ancient measure of capacity of the town of Banská Bystrica. It was engraved in 1576.
