Today, May 9, 2007, Canada Post commemorates the Centennial of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. Four domestic stamps have been issued in a pane of eight and also FDC. The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada is known for it’s architecural excellence in Canada and helping develop a national standard.

Designer Ivan Novotny has featured four signature pieces, each that has won the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada gold medal and the Order of Canada. Those structures and architecs are St. Marys Church, Douglas Cardinal, (1969); University of Lethbridge, Arthur Erickson, (1971); Ontario Science Centre, Raymond Moriyama, (1969); and the National Gallery of Canada, Moshe Safdie, (1988).
