You know I cannot resist the pun…”Royal Error Causes Recall”. The buzz is that Royal Mail is recalling thousands of their “Celebrating England” sets, after it was discovered that a typo was found. “Isle of White” is, of course the incorrect spelling. “Isle of Wight” is the correct spelling.
Already UK Newspapers, like Daily Express are publishing the news of the error.
The stamps were scheduled to go on sale in conjunction with St. Georges Day, Monday April 23rd. To make matters difficult is the fact that the stamps were already sent out to Post Offices and Dealers across the country. That’s right folks…try and recall error stamps from a Dealer. Good luck Royal Mail!
