Australia Post has been very busy the past few days, with the release of for stamp issues. There was one release on March 16, one on March 17, and two releases for today March 20.

It’s all fun and games for the Australians, as March 16 saw a sheetlet commemorating the Opening Ceremony of the XVIII Commonwealth Games. The five individual stamps capture the moments of the ceremony that was held at the MCG on March 15.This is the first in a series of “instant” stamp sheelets produced by Australia Post to celebrate the Games. On March 17, Australia Post released another sheetlet of stamps tocommemorate all gold medals won by Australian Athletes. The names of the gold medalists represented on this sheet, along with the events in which they were victorious, are:

Katie Mactier - Cycling: Women’s 3000m Individual Pursuit Russell Mark & Craig Trembath - Shooting: Men’s Double Trap Pairs Jessicah Schipper - Swimming: Women’s 100m Butterfly Kerryn McCann - Women’s Marathon Lalita Yauhleuskaya & Dina Aspandiyarova - Shooting: Women’s 10m Air Pistol Pairs

Australia Post has not released information on the March 20th stamps, so these will be added at a later time.
