It has been a bookend week for the USPS and a busy time for stamp collectors. The week started off with the release of the Big Horn Sheep stamp and ended today with the long anticipated Star Wars stamps.

The May 21st issue in Washington, D.C. features the single .17-cent definitive stamp “Big Horn Sheep”. The design came from artist Nancy Stahl who also created the Florida Panther stamp this year. For both stamps, Stahl used actual photographs of Bighorn Sheep and Florida Panthers. Philatelists can take note that this is available in PSA pane of 20 and PSA coil of 100 stamps.

Today’s issue (May 25th) of the Star Wars stamps has been long touted by the USPS and this weekend promises events across the country as stamp collectors and Star Wars enthusiasts alike celebrate. These stamps are in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the first Star Wars movie. The Souvenir Sheet contains 15 different stamps, with other items available like postal cards and express mail envelopes. For all of the goodies Check out whats available at the USPS
