The USPS has released this year’s Lunar New Year Stamp Sheet. This issue will be exact in design to last years Scott # 3895. With the following exceptions:
1) This year’s increase in rate means we do not have to deal with the unlucky number 444 or should I say $4.44. Mathematically .39 x 12 = $4.68 or a single sided pane of 12 stamps. Yes, I did say this is a single sided sheet.
2) And of course the rate will be .39-cents.
Now the fun part and you do not have to eat Chinese food to read the placemat.
This will be the Year of the Dog, which applies to people born in the year’s 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, and 2006. “People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other peoples confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth; yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit.” -Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco
