Today, March 17 2006, the second X-Plane stamp is released. This will also be like the counterpart stamp and released at the Mega Stamp Show in New York, NY 10199. Format will be a Single $14.40 Express Mail stamp and pane of 20.
Phil Jordan, the designer, again used a computer-generated image of the X-15 from NASA studies for the Express Mail design. The stamp shows the colors against a meshed grid to illustrate how air is forced around and behind the plane. This design too includes a ghosted “X” on the left side of the stamp and text under the image reading, “Computer-generated aerodynamic study of an X-Plane.”
