Motorcycle enthusiasts will love this set of six stamps, released today from Royal Mail. BSA, Norton, Triumph are among the names of celebrated cycles, as Britian recognizes the achievment and history of the motorcycle. The motorcycle stamps are part of Royal Mail’s transport theme, which began in 2001.
The early 19th century saw the newly created petrol engines straped to not just four, but two wheeled vehicles. Small and large British makers did very well during the years of the war. In fact, 150,000 motorcycles were being produced annually by 1929. Since then the motorcycle has changed with the times and lifestyles, remaining popular today.
