Saturday January 13, 2007 was the release date for the “With Love and Kisses” stamp in the United States. The Official First Day City was Hershey, Pennsylvania for this .39-cent stamp that comes in a pane of twenty. The Love stamp began in the United States in 1973 and since then has been seen a variety of designs. Hearts, flowers, and even the word “Love” has ordained this stamp through the years. As for the Hersheys Kiss… the shape of the candy has not changed since it’s introduction in 1907 and was hand wrapped for 14 years. That is when automation save a lot of fingers from the tiresome task of the foil wrapping. For you WWII buffs, the Hersheys Kiss stopped production from 1942 to 1949. It was during that time that the factory observed the silver foil rationing for the war effort.
