Canada Post new issue advertisement

Canada Post issued another advertising stamp on March 18. This one advertises TD Bank, and joins the ranks with other stellar issues like Canadian Tire. If this were to happen in the US, you would hear the liberals just HOWLING about how corporate America is taking over. I wonder how the average Canadian reacts to these “stamps”. You can read more about it here.

Yep. Looks like a magazine ad to me. Though I must comment that the US has put out stamps relating to Savings and Loan, Credit Unions and the like.

If the USPS started doing this, we would never see the end of stamps released in one years time.

Hang tight folks…capitalism will soon invade our stamp designs, just like we see with cancels.

There has been all kinds of collector backlash here in Canada about there “corporate issues”. There are a prime example of why I do not collect Canada, my home country.

I am ashamed of Canada Post for lowering to this level. Stamps are supposed to represent a countries culture and history not its corporate headquarters.
