China has honored movie stars Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Chow Yun-Fat in a commemorative stamp collection marking 100 years of Chinese cinema. The stamps also salute famous Chinese films including “Fists of Fury,” “Hero,” “Farewell My Concubine” and “Infernal Affairs.” The stamps bear production shots of the stars and come with biographies. It is interesting to note that “Farewell My Concubine” was highly critical of the Maoist regime, and was purported to have landed the director in hot water for quite some time. The stamp pictured below is the generic 100 years of Chinese cinema stamp, as I was unable to obtain scans of the movie star stamps.
