Another interesting facet of stamp collecting involves the collecting of pictorial cancellations. In today’s Times Union, out of Albany, NY, there is a nice article about pictorial cancel collecting by Shannon Fromma. The occasion involves a pictorial cancellation designed for the Times Union’s 150th Anniversary by 5th grader Tammy Coffey of East Greenbush, NY. Tammy was chosen as the grand prize winner in a contest for area school-age children to design the cancel. Read more about pictorial cancellations and the contest here.
