This is verbatim from the press release:

On Oct. 7, Matthew Bennett International will auction what is universally considered to be the finest collection of American Colonial and early United States mails ever assembled. The collection contains more than one-third of the 2,000 or so colonial pieces available in the public domain, dated from 1662-1799. Important historical documents include:
  • – A letter written by General Nathaniel Greene from Valley Forge.
  • — Mail from Lafayette and Cornwallis at the Siege of Yorktown.
  • – A letter written and signed by King George II announcing to the American Colonies the death of George I.
  • – A letter written by an officer with General Braddock during the French and Indian Wars decrying the tactics of Braddock and praising the heroics of a young George Washington.
  • – A letter dated 1698 from Lord Bridger encouraging the people of New Hampshire to grow hemp along with the original document known as the Hemp Act of 1699.
  • – Many additional from occupied American cities, first-hand accounts of important battles and expeditions, and blockade mail with letters as early as 1662.
