Philatelic Tidbits is 1 year old

Today is the 1 year anniversary of Philatelic Tidbits. To date, we have had 341 posts, with 114 comments on the site. Traffic is averaging more than 125 unique visitors each day, a number that makes me quite happy. Even better, more than 60% of all visits to this site come from bookmarks, which means people are coming back repeatedly! In the past year, we have been featured in both Linn’s Stamp news and The American Philatelist, which is likely responsible for a lot of our trafffic increase. Thank you to all of my readers for making Philatelic Tidbits such a popular place.

In honor of our 1 year anniversary, I thought I would show off one of my prize philatelic possessions, a true modern rarity. This is a Scott 1596d on cover, the L - perforated version of the stamp. These were produced as an emergency measure when the in-line perforator on the press with which the stamp was printed broke. This version of the stamp is quite rare and a must-have for the Americana Series specialist. I hope you liked my little show-and-tell. Keep on visiting for more great news and opinions about stamp collecting!
