Stamp Collecting in Illinois

Today’s Bureau County Republican has a story about one Virginia Gage and her stamp collection. Virginia is 86 years old and has been collecting stamps for some 58 years. It’s a very nice story, told from the perspective of someone who is not a collector. The pictures that are attached to the story are a bit bothersome, though, particularly the one showing Virginia holding a mint 3c Columbian with here fingers!

As always, it’s nice to see something about stamp collecting in the mainstream media, as it always brings a few closet collectors out of the woodwork! Here’s hoping we see more stories like this in the near future. Oh, here’s the link to the story.
