Unused Scottish designs in UK Sunday Times

In today’s UK times online, there is a story about some stamp designs that weren’t used that were intended to honor the Scottish assembly in 1979. After the move for Scottish independence (referred to as devolution) was defeated in March of 1979, the stamps were removed from the program of issue. Scotland did eventually form an assembly of it’s own in 1999, for the first time since 1707. In typical mainstream press fashion, there is no picture of the unissued stamps, and I have not been able to find a picture to provide you. You can read the article here, which is interesting even without the pictures.
