Douglas Carlson has again gotten his name into the national news over the latest battle with the USPS. If you don’t know the name, suffice it to say that Mr. Carlson, an attorney and stamp collector, has made a name for himself over the past few years by taking the USPS to task for overcharging for items that should be sold at normal prices. For instance, this latest battle involves the Disney postal stationary that was issued back in 2004, for which the USPS charges a whopping $14.00 for a dozen sheets. That’s for a “folded letter” with a face value of 37c! I say hooray for people like Mr. Carlson; I wish we had more like him. For more details on this battle and some more background on Mr. Carlson, read this article on the Washington Post website.
